

Katrina is a leader in the operatic industry both onstage and off.
A passionate leader in the operatic industry, Katrina has enjoyed rich and rewarding work in the fields of performance, artist management and marketing, producing, and artistic administration. She serves proudly as the Director of Artistic Administration at Opera Omaha and is the Founder and General & Artistic Director of East Passyunk Opera Project (ePOP) in Philadelphia.

Known for her "remarkably vibrant and flexible" soprano (Gramophone), she has performed regularly on the country's great stages, from The Metropolitan Opera to Opera Philadelphia, and has enjoyed international work at companies including Opera Bonn (Germany) and Opéra de Lyon (France).

Through her work at Opera Omaha and East Passyunk Opera Project, Katrina is at the forefront of innovation in the operatic industry, leading the programming, collaboration, and artistry of the 21st century. She brings over a decade of experience to the field of arts administration, and she is proud to help shape the artistic landscape of her communities, whether through her leadership positions or as a mentor and masterclass clinician.

Even beyond the musical landscape, Katrina is a passionate and involved member of her community. She was named the Mission Award Winner and Runner-Up for Woman of the Year of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, raising over $90,000 for the LLS, both through private fundraising and through a partnership with the East Passyunk Opera Project, of which she is the Founder and General & Artistic Director.

Soprano Katrina Thurman has been praised for her “wonderfully clear sound and natural warmth of character” (Opera News). She is a versatile artist who has built a solid reputation performing traditional operatic repertoire while specializing in contemporary opera and musical theatre. Her repertoire encompasses over 45 roles in six languages and has taken her to theaters across the country and around the world, from Aspen to Lyon to New York City with both New York City Opera and The
Metropolitan Opera.
